A Most Unique Find.

The Victorians were fascinated by the discoveries of explorers. They collected and catalogued everything, from rocks and butterflies to the tribes of India. This rare album is an example of the Victorian era at its finest. There is so much to tell about it.

This leather bound album dates to the mid to late 1800s and has 40 cabinet photos. The cover of the album just woos me. It has over three inches of real coral branch, an insect wing made out of celluloid, a raised turtle and brass fittings. This is such a rare cover -- I've never seen anything like it.

After researching the cabinet photos, there are some written notes of Archbishop Markarios, President of Cypress. This could possibly be his family. Wouldn't that be something?

This is currently available for purchase at our shop here.
